First post: readdiction to video/computer games.

For the past three years, I have developed a pattern when it comes to playing games on a console or on the computer. During the school year, I mainly lose interest, focusing on homework and chatting online with friends while wondering how the rest of my family is able to enjoy Diablo II (my dad) or World of Warcraft (my mom and my brother). However, the beginning of summer sparks my interest in Starcraft, the Sims, Dance Dance Revolution, and sneaking into my brother's room to play on the Gamecube or Nintendo 64.

Like every summer since my freshman year of high school, I have reentered the world of hydralisks and Princess Peach. Still, this year it is not only because of my sudden memory of the good old days and the fact that I have free time, but also because of the realization that there are new games/expansions coming out.

Starcraft 2 has finally been announced, which everyone who knows anything about Starcraft should have heard about. Although it won't be coming out until next year, I am absolutely ecstatic about it. I'm hoping that Terran will have some good add-ons (as this summer I have discovered that I really like them), although from what I heard Protoss will have the usual upperhand.

And where have I been since I bought Sims 2 Nightlife? They have a selection of new expansions which I am eager to get my hands on, but since it takes up so much space on my hard drive already I'll have to uninstall all of my regular Sims games (all of them up to Magic).

As for Nintendo 64, who knew how much I missed Super Smash Bros. and Goldeneye? Even Gamecube appeals to me; I've discovered that Jigglypuff (yes, that one) on Super Smash Bros. Melee has a very useful attack which completely annihilates everyone one at a time.

Which brings me to my disgust: I'm sick of all the new game consoles coming out. Sure, they may be amazing, but Nintendo 64 still beats PS3 or the Wii anyday in my opinion.

Not much for a first post, but it's what's been on my mind.
